Festivals & Events
There’s a lot to celebrate in the Shuswap, and the region’s busy festival schedule covers everything from arts and culture to natural wonders and local heritage.
The Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival is a unique and exceptional event, drawing huge crowds year after year. This family-friendly festival brings musicians and artists from around the world for live performances in the heart of the spectacular Shuswap landscape.
The annual Adams River Salmon Run at Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park is world-renowned – each year, millions of Sockeye salmon crowd the river on their treacherous journey to spawn. This natural wonder is celebrated with interpretive information, activities, and art at the Salute to the Sockeye festival.
The Falkland Stampede is one of the Shuswap’s longest-running events, a classic experience combining a good old-fashioned rodeo, parade, pancake breakfast, and plenty of thrills for participants and spectators alike.
But those are just the beginning. Community fairs like Chase CornStock and the Salmon Arm Fair celebrate the region’s agricultural life, and competitive events like the Dragon Boat Festival, Survive the Triangle, the Reino Keski-Salmi Loppet, and the Salty Dog Enduro get the adrenaline flowing.
