Help Shape Shuswap’s Agricultural Brand

Help Shape Shuswap’s Agricultural Brand

Building on the directives of the approved Shuswap Agriculture Strategy , Grow Shuswap is working with marketing & communications agency Upanup to develop a brand that will provide a coordinated marketing approach for Shuswap’s agricultural products. Designed to differentiate our region’s agriculture from others, the brand will support and extend the CSRD’s current economic development initiatives through a distinctive logo.

Help us launch this first stage in growing Shuswap’s agricultural brand by sharing your perspective as a grower, value-added producer or buyer for business, in-person on or by email.  This initial invitation for feedback is just the first, watch the Grow Shuswap website for updates on the process and how you can get involved.

In-person

We will be conducting on-site interviews on July 28th and 29th. If you are available for a 30-45 minute interview on one of these dates, Mike and Kirstie from Upanup would be pleased to meet you at your business, farm or other convenient location. Email [email protected] with the times that work best for you.

Email

If you are not available for an in-person interview, but would still like to provide input, please email [email protected] to indicate your interest and we will follow up with a brief questionnaire.

Meet Michael – Upanup’s Brand Builder

Michael grew up on the Saanich Peninsula, a rural area north of Victoria with a long agricultural history (home to the oldest agricultural exhibition in Western Canada, the Saanich Fair). Following his design training in Vancouver and the Netherlands, Michael began his design career in Winnipeg, moving to Toronto in 2004, where he cofounded Motherbrand beginning his focus on brand design and strategy. As a brand builder, Michael has worked internationally to produce work that increases brand awareness, understanding and support for public sector and private clients.

Meet Kirstie – Upanup’s Content Strategist

Kirstie grew up in Lac La Biche, wrapped in northern Alberta’s wheat fields. An early contributor to the local farmer’s market, Kirstie experienced the ups and downs of marketing local produce and baked goods. Following a degree at the University of Victoria, Kirstie honed her content skills through positions in Denmark, Spain, Eastern Canada and on cruise ships on three seas. As Upanup’s content advocate, Kirstie smiths words and ideas and will be documenting and sharing the creation of Shuswap agriculture’s new brand.
