First Nations

The Shuswap is named after the Shuswap First Nations – the Secwepemc – a Salish Nation made up of 17 Bands that were historically spread across south-central British Columbia. Today, four First Nations bands have Reserve lands in the Shuswap region: the Adams Lake Indian Band, Neskonlith Indian Band, Splatsin First Nation, and Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band.
